Pomorie Grand Hotel – the best Hotel on the Balkans
On 20 January 2010, the Pomorie Grand Hotel received the Diamond Globe prize for the best hotel on the Balkans.
It is the highest reward in hotel business, which is being awarded for the first time by IHRA to an independent hotel for special merits.
The prestigious distinction was awarded at an official ceremony in the Serbian capital of Belgrade. The Pomorie Grand Hotel won the reward in competition of hotels all over the world, including China, Russia, India and Latin America.
In 2009, the Pomorie Grand Hotel became one of the 12 hotels in Europe and the first on the Balkans, holding the EUROPSPA med Quality Certificate of the European Spa Association. The biggest prize in restaurant business was awarded to Happy well-known chain, which won the Diamond Globe for the best restaurant chain.
The 47th Congress of the International Hotel and Restaurant Association /IHRA/ was held during the period from 18th to 21st January 2010 in Belgrade, which was attended by 250 delegates from 42 countries. For the first time in 64th years’ history of the oldest branch organization in tourism, its annual forum was held in a Balkan country.
In May 2010, Bulgaria shall be the host of the session of the Board of Directors of the International Hotel and Restaurant Association /IHRA/. It has been resolved since the time of the Congress in Belgrade. The Chairman of IHRA, Dr. Gasan Aidi, accepted the official invitation to visit the Pomorie Hotel together with all members of the Board of Association. |
